Pastor Bob Cote

Lead Pastor

My name is Bob Cote, and I would like to welcome you to The Spoken Word Christian Church! Whenever I look back on my life, I am truly amazed at how incredible God is. I spent nearly 30 years of my life living for all that the world had to offer, always searching for more. When I was younger, I excelled in sports and even captained my college football team. I had many friends, and as I grew older, I experienced success in the corporate world. Yet, there was always something missing. It seemed that no matter how much I chased after the things of this world, I felt empty and couldn't fill the void. Then, in August of 1999, Jesus took hold of my heart and filled that void. My life changed dramatically as I received more love, joy, and peace than I could have ever imagined. The journey God has taken me on has now brought me to be the Pastor of The Spoken Word Christian Church. Along with my wife Molly, our children Ashley and Ryan, and the rest of our congregation, we invite you to come and experience God in a real way through genuine relationships with one another. The Spoken Word is a non-denominational Christian Church that holds the Bible to be the inerrant, living word of God. We believe Jesus came to Earth and died for our sins so that, through faith in Him, we may live eternally in the presence of the Lord. We also believe that, as a church, we are here to serve others by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ using the natural gifts and talents that God has given us.

Pastor John Chipman

Teaching Pastor

Our family came to The Spoken Word Christian Church seeking a church that truly loves God and truly loves people. Before we arrived, my wife Nancy and I had been faithfully ministering to the inmates in the Orange County jails. We came to The Spoken Word with a heart for the lost, the broken and the troubled. As a Chaplain in the Orange County Jail Ministry, I taught Bible studies, conducted church services, and provided Christian counseling for the men and women struggling with life’s trials. I believe that glorifying God by reflecting God’s grace to others is the true business of life. As a former high school teacher and language arts major, I understand the importance of the systematic study and clear presentation of Scripture. I strive to draw near to God through His word and to help others realize the wonder and treasure of a holy and loving God. In addition to being a teaching pastor, I also enjoy playing guitar on the worship team, participating in the Men’s Studies, and being active in several of the ministries at The Spoken Word. When I’m not at church Nancy and I love to spend time with our beloved son Johnny and our wonderful daughter-in-law, Michelle.

Kim Eaves

Worship Leader

There is always hope in Jesus! That’s just one of the messages that worship leader, Kim Eaves, hopes to convey to the congregation as she leads worship. “We serve a mighty God who is faithful and full of ceaseless love, grace, and mercy, and I want to share that with others.” Raised in Southern California, Kim began leading worship in children’s ministries. With a heart for the lost and hurting, she started visiting jails, prisons, and homeless shelters to share her testimony and the love of Jesus through music. Kim leads worship for Bible studies, women's retreats, and special events. She also has experience in studio singing, sings backup for local Christian bands, and is a vocal coach. Kim enjoys encouraging others and inspiring them to pursue an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. One of her favorite verses is Psalm 101:1 – “I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.”
