“Staying Connected” John 15:1-9

The Spoken Word Christian Church https://thespokenwordchurch.com

I love this time of year as we move deeper into the spring season. The weather is warming up, the birds are chirping, and new life is in the air, as the plants and trees begin to flower and blossom yielding whatever fruit they have been created to produce. This time of year should be a reminder to all of us as Christians, that we have also been created to flower and blossom and produce fruit for the Kingdom of God. Listen today as Pastor Bob jumps back into John chapter 15, as Jesus exhorts his disciples to bear good fruit in His name.

Our Bible text for Today’s Message is from John 15:1-9

The Vine and the Branches

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
