About The Spoken Word Christian Church

The Spoken Word Christian Church is a non-denominational, Christian church located in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.

Our church began in 2008 with a very small group of people meeting together in an empty commercial lease space that lacked both furniture and power. On that first Sunday 13 people brought with them their faith, their Bibles and their beach chairs to worship God together. Many years later, God has grown us into a wonderful fellowship of believers who love Jesus, and look to serve Him with the gifts He’s given us. We are a family-oriented church striving to reach out to those around us who are in need, as we demonstrate the love of Christ in real and meaningful ways.

We invite you to join us at church to experience the love of God lived out through His people. Our services are held on Sundays @ 10:00am at 30151 Avenida de las Banderas. Come and be part of what God is doing at The Spoken Word Christian Church!

Worship Music

Here at The Spoken Word Christian Church we believe that music is an important part of worshipping God. We desire to honor God with our voices as we sing praises to Him, while our hearts and minds are prepared to hear His Word. Our worship team does a wonderful job leading us in a mix of contemporary Christian songs that both glorifies Christ, as well as focusing our attention on Him.

Pastor Bob CoteSermons & Teachings:

We try and keep things simple here at the Spoken Word Christian Church. We teach the Bible book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. Pastor Bob Cote's messages are Christ-centered teachings with direct applications for our everyday lives. It is his desire that you leave each service challenged to live out your faith in more meaningful and purposeful ways as you draw closer to God.

Communion Time PicturePrayer & Communion:

We end each service with a time of prayer for everyone, followed by Holy Communion (Jas 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 11:20-34). This is a special moment for believers as we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for each of us on the cross.

Fellowship Hall Spoken Word ChurchFellowship After Services:

We are a church who loves God, loves each other and loves others. We encourage everyone to stay and spend time getting to know one another after each service. We believe that the fellowship of believers is extremely important in our journey with God.

Our Humble Beginnings and Beach Chair Sunday

Our church began in 2008 as we met in an empty commercial storefront building. At that time, all we had were our beach chairs to sit in, our Bibles to read, and our faith in Jesus to lean on. Each year on the first Sunday of August, we rejoice in our humble beginnings and the great things God has done for us, by celebrating what we call "Beach Chair Sunday". On this day, we move our regular chairs out of the sanctuary and encourage everyone to bring in their own beach chair to commemorate this special occasion. Following the service, we celebrate with lots of food and games. It’s a great time every year, and we encourage you to join us, as we rejoice in what God has done through our mighty little church!
